Description

This module aims to provide students with: an overview of the state-of-the-art approaches of in-silico modelling of soft-tissue biomechanics and mechanobiology an introduction to mathematical approaches to model soft-tissue mechanobiology Introductory material will set the motivation for topic, followed by lectures which provide the pre-requisite mathematics. Specific mathematical models to describe the mechanobiology of arterial, cardiac, skeletal muscle and bladder tissue will be presented. These models will be utilised in mini-projects to investigate hypotheses for growth, adaption and healing.
